Edinburgh’s Union Canal, a historic waterway connecting the city with Falkirk, is about to take centre stage in a unique theatrical production by Citadel Arts Group. Titled ‘Tales from the Towpath,’ the series of plays aims to uncover the hidden stories and mysteries surrounding the canal’s rich history.
Inspired by the intriguing circumstances of George Meikle Kemp’s death, the man responsible for designing the Scott Monument, playwright William Haddow leads the charge in unravelling this enigma. Set against the backdrop of the Union Canal aboard the moving barge, Lochrin Belle, the production promises an immersive experience for audiences keen on delving into Edinburgh’s past.
