Waste and recycling service – Coronavirus update

The below information is from the Edinburgh Council, this has been posted as requested by a member of the public (-thank you for getting in touch!)

We’re working hard to keep our key waste services running. If you see our crews in the street please keep a safe distance from them of at least two metres. You should also wash your hands before and after putting your bins out for collection. This is to protect them and you. Please visit the Scottish Government’s website for advice on social distancing.

Please help your neighbours who aren’t able to put their bins out by offering to do it for them.

As more people are working from home, please consider where you park on your scheduled bin collection day. To allow us to safely access bins, please park more than 10m (32ft) from a junction and park close to the kerb with wing mirrors folded in.

Due to changes in staff your bins may be collected by a different crew and at a different time. Make sure your bins and boxes are easily accessible and visible for crews. It may be necessary for us to change the location we collect / return your bins from / to.

If you have an urgent request, please email waste.
