Our ex-chair and long-serving member of Merchiston Community Council Bridget Stevens (seen in the photo with our current Chair Ian Doig) was awarded the MBE in the King’s Birthday honours list last summer for her services to the Arts, in particular for pioneering the use of audio description in Scotland for sight-impaired people attending theatre performances, but also for her years of service to the community council and for her charity work. She received the award from the Princess Royal at the Palace of Holyroodhouse on January 21st. Huge Congratulations Bridget from all of us!
