This year once more many of our residents will be out clearing leaves that have fallen from our many beautiful trees in Merchiston. On pavements and roads damp leaves contribute to “slippy” falls and blocked drains so clearing them away is important and we have an arrangement with the city council whereby they collect the filled bags of leaves and provide bags, brooms, shovels and gloves for our leaf-clearing volunteers. We would love to welcome more volunteers to help with this important work.
If you would like to help clear leaves in your area you are welcome to collect clearing equipment from a special shed at the back of Abbotsford Court flats, EH10 5EJ (see plan below) which will be open this season on
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 5.30-6.30 pm
and Saturday and Sunday 4.00-5.00 pm
As well as collecting equipment volunteers are asked to leave their name, address, phone number and email address to be added to the MDCC Volunteer List.
